The Following are the Amendments released by ICAI on 01.04.2013 for providing clarification to students from various confusions

Amendments For CA IPC  May 2013 Exams

The Finance Act, 2012 has introduced the concept of negative list in the service tax law
whereby all services are liable to service tax except those covered under the negative list and the exempted services

By this from now on onwards the practice of Specifying Services applicable for the Exams is Discontinued

The Following New Topics Shall be Included and applicable for the May 2013 Exams

Amendments in Electricty Company Accounts

Many queries have been recieved as what are the amendments in Electricity Company Accounts

Applicable for IPCC May 2013 Exams The Clarification regarding the query is there are no specific amendments

relating to Electricity Company Accounts the only thing is that the Study material is revised from May 2012 Exams

So the topics in the revised publication are applicable for the exams from May 2012 Hence the revised Publication is also

applicable for IPCC May 2013 Exams

Concession for Candidates with Permanent Physical Disability

The examination committee at its 497th meeting held that the “candidates with permanent physical / visual neurological disability of 50% or more irrespective of whether the candidates can or cannot write the examinations themselves (e.g. cases of blindness/amputation of upper limbs/cerebral palsy etc.) be given the following Concession(s):-

• Writer to be allowed
• Extra time of One and Half-an-Hour be permitted for Main Examination and One Hour for each session in CPT

Change in CPT Passing Criteria

Revised passing requirements for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) effective from June, 2013

it is notified for general information that
the passing requirements of CPT effective from June, 2013 shall be as under:-

“A candidate for the Common Proficiency Test shall ordinarily be declared to have passed the test if he
obtains at one sitting a minimum of 30% marks in each section and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all the sections, subject to the principle of negative marking, in such manner
as may be determined by the Council, from time to time.”

New/Revised Ind ASs finalised by ICAI

The following are the New/Revised Ind ASs (Post February, 2011) corresponding to the new/revised IFRSs issued by the IASB after finalisation of 35 Ind ASs hosted on the MCA’s website. These Ind ASs have been finalised by the Council of the ICAI and sent to the National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards (NACAS) for its consideration. These are subject to any changes, which may be made by the Government before their notification.
